Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide high corrosion resistance and heat conductivity to heat exchangers by plating copper beforehand to titanium tubes above a specified thickness and soldering copper or copper alloy fins thereto. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of producing titanium tubes for finned heat exchangers, copper is beforehand plated on the titanium tubes to >=3mu by an ordinary method. Thereafter, copper or copper alloy fins are soldered thereto. If the thickness of said copper plating is <=3mu, solder reacts with the copper plating and erodes the same, then the solder layers directly contact with the titanium surfaces, thus resulting in considerably decreased soldering strength.
