Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a brazing operation and to make a heat exchanger for a hot temperature and high pressure by a method wherein copper members plated by tin are assembled, heated and brazed to form an integral assembly and at the ame time a tin-copper alloy layer is formed at surfaces of the members.
CONSTITUTION: Tube 1 having tin plated on a surface of a plate member made of copper or copper alloy and heat radiation fins 2 are combined with each other and supported on the partition plates 3 so as to make a heat exchanger. Then, the heat exchanger is heated in a furnace, the tin plated layer is melted and flowed into the brazed part 11. Then, the moltein tin is dispersed or diffused into a base material and at the same time the base material is also diffused or dispersed into the tin material so as to form an alloy layer 12 having a major constituent of tin-copper.
