Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase heat transfer areas, to suppress the increase in pressure drops and to make the reduction in size and weight possible by forming and laminating needle-like fins to a plate shape, and forming these fins into a circular shape in section. CONSTITUTION:Fitting holes 7 to be inserted and fitted with heat transfer tubes 1 according to the configurations of the tubes 1 are blanked to a metallic sheet 5 which is clad with brazing filler metals on both surfaces. Needle-like fins 2a of a rectangular shape in section of a prescribed thickness and length extending in the direction intersecting orthogonally with the flow of fluid on the outside of the tubes are blanked at prescribed intervals between these holes 7, whereby a needle-like fin plate 3 is formed. Such plates 3 are fitted onto the tubes 1 and are laminated, and headers 4 are connected to both end parts of the tubes 1, whereby the fluid flow passages in the tubes are formed. These are put in a brazing furnace whereby they are heated to allow the brazing filler metals to melt and solidify, where the tubes 1 and the plates 3 as well as the tubes 1 and the headers 4 are brazed and joined. At the same time, the brazing filler metals on both sides of the fins 2a are melted and solidified and the needle-like fins of a circular shape in section are formed by the surface tension thereof.
