Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled warm water container with superior deformation resistance and rupture strength by welding a high strength austenite stainless steel having a special composition by a specified welding method.
CONSTITUTION: A high strength austenite stainless steel consisting of, by wt., ≤ 0.15%C, ≤1.0%Si, 5W10%Mn, 3W9%Ni, 16W20%Cr, 0.03W0.25%N, 0.04W1%Nb, a small amount of one or ≥2 kinds of Al, Ti and Zr as a deoxidizer, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is joined by a lap joing welding system under conditions which regulate the ratio between the length (l2) of the lap joind and the lapping gap (l1) to ≤4. the desired gap (l3) between the can body and the end plate is about 1.0W2.0mm. Thus, a warm water container satisfying well 17.5kg/cm2G deformation starting pressure prescribed by the handling standard of Waterworks Association is obtd.
