Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a dehumidifying tower of good thermal efficiency, a small size and a low cost by providing heating elements for heating and regenerating adsorbents in the dehumidifying tower, and conducting part of the dry air from the dehumidifying tower during drying operation to the dehumidifying tower under regeneration operation by controlling its flow rate.
CONSTITUTION: The air discharged from a drying vessel A for powder and granules of synthetic resins or the like is dehumidified in a dehumidifying tower Ca via a filter 1 and a blower B, after which it is reflowed via a tee pipe 4 and a heater H into the vessel A. Part of the dry air is branched by the pipe 4 and is supplied through a lead-in-pipe Pa into the other dehumidifying tower Cb under regeneration operation. The dry air introduced into the tower Cb is heated with heating elements 3, after which it is passed through adsorbents C' to regenerated the adsorbents C' and is released to the outside of the system through the discharge port of a 4-way changeover valve V1. The distributing flow of the dry air for the tower Cb is controlled by the aperture of a flow rate regulating valve V2 so that the towers are operated at a small flow rate of air during heating of the adsorbents by the heating elements 3 in the first period of regeneration operation and at a large flow rate of wind during cooling of the adsorbents in the last period of regeneration operation.
