Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable simple discrimination of time for completion of regeneration of adsorbent by utilizing the fact that when air for regeneration is blown into a layer of heated adsorbent, the time of temperature drop of the adsorbent becomes longer when remaining moisture in the adsorbent becomes fewer.
CONSTITUTION: Air to be dehumidified is sucked by a pump and passed to a container 2 from an inlet/outlet port 4. It is then dehumidified with an adsorbent 3, and dried air is discharged from an inlet/outlet port 5. When dehumidification is completed, the adsorbent 3 is heated by energizing a heater 6 to vaporize moisture contained in the adsorbent 3. When air for regeneration is blown into the container 2 from the inlet/outlet port 5 under this condition, the vapor is discharged from the inlet/outlet port 4 with air. In this case, if there is much remaining moisture in the adsorbent 3, the time of temperature drop of the adsorbent is short due to evaporation, and heating by the heater and blowing of air are repeated unitl the time of temperature drop becomes longer than the reference time for regeneration.
