Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the work of setting the direction of an outlet end portion of an auxiliary intake channel easy by providing the auxiliary intake channel separate from a main intake channel that is opened and closed by an intake valve and constituting the outlet end portion of this auxiliary intake channel with a pipe material that is pressed in a cylinder head.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture gas formed in a carburetor 8 is supplied to a combustion chamber 4 from a main intake channel 5 via an intake valve 11, and the gas is injected from an auxiliary intake channel 22 of which the inlet ends 22D and 22E open in the carburetor air channel 8b through an injection nozzle 2a at the outlet end of the auxiliary intake channel 22. This gas injection develops a swirl in the combustion chamber 4 during the intake stroke. In such an internal combustion engine, the outlet end portion of the auxiliary intake channel is constituted with a pipe material 22a, and its end is shrunk to a smaller diameter to form an injection nozzle 22A, and the bore portion 22b of the material is sunk in the cylinder head. At the other end of the material 22A a concave section 22C is provided for a mounted tool.
