Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve heating efficiency and reduce working time in upsetting work of an electric forging machine by supplying proper heating energy in a proper time during upsetting process.
CONSTITUTION: A starting signal 27 of output etc. of a position detector of a pressure stand is put in a control output unit U, and output therefrom is inputted to a gate circuit h1. Secondary voltage corresponding to a tap T1 is outputted from secondary side output terminals 14, 15 of a heating transformer 11 to supply a starting heating current to a material to be upset that lies between two electrode. On the other hand, the starting signal 27 actuates a timer Q1and after lapse of set time, outputs to the next control unit U2 and at the same time, actuates the next timer Q2. The output of the control unit U2 goes to a gate h2 and connects a primary side tap T2 of the heating transformer to an a.c. power source input terminal 17. At the same time, r2 output of S output gives R input to RS dual stability element of control output unit U1 to rest it, and output h1 of the unit U1 turns off. Thus, effective value of heating current is increased successively.
