Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the deflection accuracy with a suppressed transition of vibration to a polyhedral mirror by fixing the mirror on a rotating shaft outside one of a pair of ball bearings supporting a rotor while the ball bearing opposite to the mirror is fixed with flexibility to axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A rotor magnet 58 is supported rotatively with a pair of ball bearings 61 and 62 mounted on a rotating shaft 52. One ball bearing 61 is fixed on an inserted section 72a of an outer cylinder 72 to fasten a driven polyhedral mirror 51 on a rotating shaft 52 outside the bearing. The opposite ball bearing 62 with an axial flexibility is mounted on the outer cylinder 72 through a holding plate 77 such as gimbal spring having a diametrical rigidity. With such a arrangement, the axial vibration can be absorbed with the holding plate 77 while the diametrical vibration is intercepted with the ball bearing 61. This checks the transmission of vibration of a motor to the polyhedral mirror 51 thereby improving the deflection accuracy.
