Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a concentration sensor which is capable of measuring the absorbance of a trace of material to be inspected, by providing a cylinder supporting the tip face of an optical fiber for transmitting and photodetecting on a plane including a center of curvature of a concave mirror opposing to a transparent columnar plane having the concave mirror on the one end and having the plane on the other end. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical support body 15 having a plane window 18 passing through a center of curvature 19 of a concave mirror 6 is suoported by a columnar transparent member 14 in one body through a support member 16 in oppositing to a plane 13 of the member 14 forming a concave mirror 6 on the one end and forming a plane 13 on the other end. An optical fiber 5 for transmitting and an optical fiber 7 for photodetecting are supported by closely sticking the tip faces of both fibers to the window 18 in the body 15 through a spacer 17. The measuring part of this concentration sensor 8 is immersed in the liquid to be inspected and light from a light source 1 is introduced into the fiber 5 and then, the exit light of the fiber 7 is introduced into a detector 9. Hereby, the absorbance of a trace of body to be inspected is measured.
