Abstract

PURPOSE:To quickly and accurately measure the colored constitutent concentration of a sample liquid, by dividing light transmitted through the liquid into two portions and passing these light portions through filters of different transmission wavelength regions and detecting the portions. CONSTITUTION:Light transmitted through a sample liquid 3 contained in the cell sections 2 of a microplate 1 is divided into two portions by a translucent mirror 41. The light portions are conducted to filters 42a, 42b of different transmission wavelength regions and detected by selected light sensors 43a, 43b. The quantities of the light portions of different wavelengths are thus compared and detected to analyze the colored constitutent concentration of the sample liquid 3. The cell sections 2 are arranged on the microplate 1 in the longitudinal and latitudinal direction. A two- wavelength photometer is moved in the latitudinal direction. As a result, the latitudinal dimension of a device can be made comparatively small.
