PURPOSE:To easily mount and demount an image pickup tube on a camera and simplify its structure by arranging a glass chip on a part of whose external surface a metallic deposition film is applied, in contact with the signal taking-out electrode on a faceplate and taking out signals from the metallic deposition film. CONSTITUTION:A transparent disk-shaped glass chip 9 on which conductive films 8a and 8b consisting of metallic deposition films are sequentially applied in an almost belt-like shape from a part of external surface of a faceplate 4 to the contact section of a signal taking out electrode 7 on the back side is bonded and arranged on the front of the faceplate 4, for example, by using transparent epoxy resin, and a signal taking out section 11 consisting of the conductive films 8a and 8b is formed on a part of the peripheral surface of the glass chip 9.
