Abstract
PURPOSE:To record an analog signal on a medium with a bias signal and to increase the level at reproduction, by ising a lengthwise magnetic field as well as a vertical magnetic field for a vertically magnetized magnetic medium. CONSTITUTION:Figure shows the direction of a magnetic field produced with a ring shaped magnetic head 9 with the arrow. A magnetic layer 6 is subjected to a lengthwise magnetic field as well as a vertical magnetic field. The magnetic layer 6 has a magnetization easy axis toward vertical direction but also forms a magnetized pattern with a slope through a lengthwise magnetic field. The vertical medium has a vertical anisotropy in which the ratio of vertical residual magnetization amount to lengthwise one is >=6:4. In this case, the angle of a magnetized pattern E changes according to the amplitude of a recorded signal C'. This magnetized pattern E can be divided into the vertical component F and the lengthwise component G. That is, the recorded signal C' is recorded with the lengthwise component, and this component is recorded on the surface of the magneitizing layer 6. Thus, the reproduced level of the analog signal can be increased.
