Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to record a control signal and clock signal on the same track by superposing by selecting a recording head current so that while a preceding signal is recorded extending the entire thickness-directional area of a magentic medium, the other signal will be recorded near the surface of the magnetic layer of the medium afterward.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetic medium 3 is fed as shown by arrow 8. At magnetic- sustance part 9, clock signal 6, etc., have already been recorded by a sufficient large recording head current as shown by the broken lines covering the entire direction of the magnetic substance. When winding 12 of magnetic head 10 for recording or reproducing those clock signals is fed with a control signal current of a small value differing in kind from the clock signals, current residual magnetism 14 remains only near the surface of the magnetic layer. Two kinds of signals are therefore recorded on magnetic medium 3 and signals 14 and 9, when reproduced by a reproducing head, are reproduced at the same time. For the purpose, those are frequency-discriminated to exercise adequate control.
