Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition that is made by adding a diamine to a maleic modified polybutadiene and effecting the thermosetting in the presence of an organic peroxide, thus showing improved heat resistance and curing reactivity as well as keeping the good adherability of modified polybutadiene.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of a maleic-modified polybutadiene, e.g., a polymer containing more than 50% of 1,2-butadiene units bearing side-chain double bonds in the polymer chains and usually having an acid value of 10W300KOHmg/g and of a diamine of H2N-R-NH2(R is divalent organic group of 30 or less carbon atoms) such as 4,4'-diaminodicyclohexylmethane is subjected to thermosetting in the presence of an organic peroxide such as benzoyl peroxide under heating. For example, 100g. of polybutadiene polymer is mixed with 20g. of the diamine and 2g. of an organic peroxide, dearated and subjected to thermosetting at 180°C for 2hr.
