Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the operational ratio and obtain the titled compound having improved heat resistance and mechanical strength simply at a low cost, by incorporating a styrene (derivative) in a novolak type epoxy resin, and reducing the viscosity of the resin composition.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. novolak epoxy resin is incorporated with (B) 5W100pts.wt., preferably 15W40pts.wt. styrene and/or its derivative and if necessary (C) a radical polymerization initiator, desirably an organic peroxide, in an amount of 0.1W10wt% based on the component (B). (D) An epoxy resin curing agent, e.g. an aliphatic amine, in an amount of preferably one equivalent, based on one epoxy equivalent, active hydrogen group is used for the resultant mixture to give the aimed cured material. For imparting a higher heat resistance to the resultant cured material, a polyfunctional oligo(meth)acrylate is preferably incorporated therein.
