Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance process efficiency, by individually collecting sludge from a primary sedimentation pool and excess sludge, anaerobically treating the excess sludge under a specified condition to perform acid fermentation, mixing the treated excess sludge with the primary precipitating sludge, and subjecting the mixture to anaerobic treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Excess sludge generated from a sewage-disposal plant is charged into an acid fermentation vessel 1, where the sludge, being agitated under an anaerobic atmosphere, is anaerobically treated by facultative and obligate anaerobe at pH5W7 under a temperature of about 30W60°C, to convert high molecular substances into a lower molecular state and to convert organic components into organic aicds. Thereafter, slurry formed in this step is supplied into a mixing vessel 2, where the slurry is mixed with primary precipitating sludge introduced through a conduit 6. The mixed slurry is charged into a gasification vessel 3, where the mixed sludge, being agitated under an anaerobic atmosphere, is treated with obligate anaerobe at pH7W8 under a temperature of about 30W60°C, to gasify organic substances in the slurry. The formed gas is weighed 4 and then reserved 5.
