Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove magnetic metal particles in oil by a method in which a filter element made of an amorphous metal is magnetized by applying a strong magnetic field to it. CONSTITUTION:A filter 3 with a filter element made of an amorphous metal is detachably inserted into the cylinder 2 of a cleaner 1, and the inlet and outlet 5 and 6 of the cylinder 2 are connected to an oil pressure circuit. Working oil is filtered when passing through the filter element, and at the same time the filter element is magnetized by a solenoid coil 4 to magnetically adsorb and remove the fine particles of magnetic metals in oil, whereupon the coil 4 is deprived of its energy. The filter 3 used inclueds a cylindrical case 10 filled with an amorphous metal wire 11, the laminated layer of plurally knittd wire 11 sheet elements 13, or the plural concentric layer of knitted wire 11 cylindrical elements 14.
