Abstract

PURPOSE: The foaming and curing of a specific polyether-polyol mixture and a polyisocyanate is conducted in a mold, thus facilitating the production of foamed articles with complicated shapes and high mechanical strength.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A mixture of (i) a polyethyertriol with a molecular weight of 1,500W3,500 and primary hydroxyl terminals and (ii) a polyetherdiol of 500W2,500 molecular weight, resulting in 65W95 average hydroxyl value, or of component (i) with (iii) a polyethertriol of 800W3,500 molecular weight, resulting in 65W85 average hydroxyl value, or of component (i) with (iv) a polyethertetraol of 1,500W 4,000 molecular weight, resulting in 65W80 average hydroxyl value, is mixed with (B) a polyisocyanate. The resultant mixture is foamed and cured in a mold. The weight ratio of a/b or c, or d is (50W95)/(50W5).
