Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve IC-implementation by eliminating the loss of the base current of a transistor (TR) by varying the base current of the TR according to a load current. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light emission diode LED is reflected by a body to be detected and its reflected light is incident to a phototransistor PHT, which permits a detecting circuit to send its output to the base of a TR11. As the output of the detecting circuit goes down to a low level, the TR11 turns off and the bae current of a TR12 flows through a resistance 23 to turn on the TR12. Then, a TR13 turns on, and consequently a current flows to a load. When a load current is small, a current flowing via route (b) increases and a current flowing via a route (a) decreases correspondingly. Therefore, the base current of the TR12 decreases, so its emitter current becomes small, thereby decreasing the base current of the TR13. When the load current is large, almost all of the currnt flowing through the resistance 23 flows to the base of the TR12, and the base current of the TR13 increases.
