Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid the production of arc on a relay contact and heat generation of a thyristor or TRIAC at power application, by connecting the thyristor or TRIAC in parallel with the relay contact. CONSTITUTION:When an input voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 1', a voltage is applied to a relay coil 5 and a light emitting diode LED at the same time. Thus, the diode LED emits light and a resistance of a CdS cell 4 is decreased by receiving the light, and a trigger current flows to a TRIAC 2 to turn on it, a load current flows by it and a relay contact 5a close after that. Next, when the input voltage is removed, the relay contact 5a opens, but a discharge circuit is formed via the diode LED with a capacitor C and a resistance R1, the discharge current flows to the LED during a time determined with the time constant and the current flows to the triac for a longer time than the operating time when the relay contact opens to turn on the TRIAC.
