Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable nonarc switching and to decrease heat generation of MOSFETs by connecting relay contacts in parallel with MOSFETs so that switching is performed by the MOSFETs during a short period when the contacts change over. CONSTITUTION:When a voltage is applied between input terminals 4 and 4', a voltage is applied to a coil 6 and a light emitting diode 1 at the same time. Thus, the diode 1 emits light and MOSFETs 31, 32 turn on through the reception of light to flow a load current and a relay contact 7 turns on with a time delay more or less after that. Next, when an input voltage is removed, the relay contact 7 opens with a certain operation time. On the other hand, at the light emitting diode side, a charging circuit of a capacitor C is formed with the capacitor C and a resistor R, and discharge current flows to the diode 1 with a time constant determined with the series resistance and the capacitor to keep on the FETs 31, 32 for a longer period than the operating time of the relay contact.
