Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound having increased number of carbon atoms with a small amount of a catalyst easily in high yield, by coupling a silylenol ether with a Grignard reagent using a specific nickel salt, e.g., nickel bromide, etc. as a catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The atmosphere in a reactor is replaced by N2 gas, and a silylenol ether, e.g., 1-trimethylsiloxy-cyclohexane, etc., shown by the formula I (R1WR3 are H, alkyl, aryl, etc., R1 and R2 form ring) is coupled with a Grignard reagent, e.g., diethyl ether of magnesium methyl bromide, etc., shown by the formula II (R4 is alkyl, aryl, trimethysilyl, etc.; X is halogen) in a solvent in the presence of a nickel salt catalyst, e.g., nickel acetylacetonate, nickel bromide, etc. shown by the formula III [Y is (CH3CO)2CH, (C6H5CO)2CH, (t-C4H9CO)2CH, Br, Cl, or I] at room temperature to give an olefin compound shown by the formula IV.
