Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform an unmanned automatic analysis of a large amount of specimens for a long period of time, by a method wherein specimens are automatically fed by employing a plurality of cassettes, and automatic analysis data are collected by means of a video recorder. CONSTITUTION:An automatic specimen feeder 200 and an automatic microscope 52 are controlled by means of a CPU59 and a controller 62. A stage is controlled so that the white corpuscle found in a blood-coated specimen is located in the center of the visual field, and an automatic focus regulation is carried out. The image enlarged by the microscope is picked up by means of a color TV camera 53, and video signals are delivered, the camera 53 being controlled by means of a controller 60. The video signals are sent to a monitor 54, where the enlarged image is projected on the monitor screen, and at the same time, the signals are converted into picture data in digital quantity in an A/D converter 61 and sent to the CPU59, which executes a cell analysis processing in accordance with the operation program being stored in a memory 65 and stores the picture data from the converter 61 into a memory 66.
