Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a welding control device by which stable welding conditions are obtained at the welding start performing arc starting by changing over the time constant of a control circuit at the welding start performing arc starting and at the steady welding in an arc welding machine using constant current feedback.
CONSTITUTION: A reference signal generator 1 setting a welding current value generates reference voltage of ⊖. An error amplifer 2 compares the VS detected as ⊕ signal from a welding current detector 6 and reference voltage VB, and inverts and amplifies the differential voltage VS-VB. Further, a resistor 3 and a capacitor 4 determine the time constant of the amplifier 2, and determine the time constant at the steady time by R1×C1, thereby providing the value at which a control system controls the welding current with high accuracy against disturbance. Here, arrangement is so made that the time constant of the amplifier 2 is changed over by a relay 8, and for a certain time at the welding start the time constant 2W4 times that at the steady welding is set so as to apply overbraking, whereby the starting current is raised slowly.
