Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the contamination of a piezoelectric vibrator due to electroconductive ink and effect the protection of the captioned circuit by a method wherein a phase difference between an impressed voltage and an inlet current for the piezoelectric vibrator is detected. CONSTITUTION:A driving signal from a driving signal input terminal 11 is inputted into the piezoelectric vibrator 15 through the control section 12 and the amplifying section 13 of the driving to cause a piezoelectric vibration. In this case, a noninductive resistor 14 is inserted between the output terminal of the amplifying section 13 of the driving and the piezoelectric vibrator 15 while a phase difference between the voltage of both ends of the noninductive resistor 14 and the impressed voltage of the piezoelectric vibrator 15 is detected in an AND circuit 20 through level setting section 17, 19. When the piezoelectric vibrator 15 is contaminated by ink and the phase difference has become zero or a very small value, the amplifying section 13 for driving is damped or intercepted by the output from the AND circuit 20 and an indicating lamp 21 is lighted ON.
