Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a hollow porous metallic material of uniform porosities without breaking down a solid phase by holding a hollow metallic material wherein the solid phase and liquid phase coexist at prescribed temps., at prescribed temps., applying gaseous pressure to the outside surface and separating the liquid phase part.
CONSTITUTION: A casing material of a hollow cylindrical shape of an Cu alloy of 10 Al or the like which assumes a solid-liquid coexisting state at prescribed temps. is set in doubleply pipes, and is locked by a screw 9. Air in inside chambers 40, 50 is substituted with Ar or the like, and after the substitution, a light amt. of Ar or the like is flowed and the temp. is raised. Thence, connecting jigs are removed, and while the doubleply pipes are being rotated slowly, the temp. is raised up to the solid-liquid coexisting temp., thence the rotation is stopped and again these are connected and sealed. In this state, the temp. is controlled by thermocouples 25, 26, and the internal or external pressure is controlled by valves 20, 21 or 18, 19, whereby the pressurizing and separating are accomplished. The separated liquid phase is blown out into the outside chamber 40. By this method, the hollow porous metallic material of uniform porosities is obtained.
