Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove magnetic metals by providing magnetic material wire brushes in proximity to rotary cylinders which revolve oppsitely and are provided internally with permanent magnets and rotating in a device of separating useful non-magnetic materials from solid waste. CONSTITUTION:Crushed solid waste 6 contg. non-magnetic metallic pieces 6a is supplied from a guide plate 7 to the surface of the opposite parts of rotary cylinders 1. The cylinders 1, 1' are disposed diagonally at a spacing l, and permanent magnet rolls 4, 4' of alternately varying magnetisms are revolving oppositely at high speeds with respect to the cylinders in said cylinders. The non-magnetic metalic pieces 6a are moved in the direction opposite from the revolution of the cylinders 1 by such alternating magnetic fields and are recovered into a vessel 8. In case magnetic powder is contained in the waste 6, it is attracted onto the cylinders 1, 1' and therefore it is attracted and separated by the magnetic induction effect of wire brushes 10, 10' consisting of magnetic materials revolving in proximity to said cylinders.
