Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate a wire bonding process, by a method wherein a laminated body provided with a heterochromatic luminous junction formed on a semiconductor substrate is divided using a linear separating groove. CONSTITUTION:An N type layer 21, a P type layer 22, a P type layer 23 and an N type layer 24 are placed on an N type substrate 20. After a red color luminous juntion and a green color luminous junction are respectively formed between layers 21, 22 and layers 23, 24, a P<+> layer 27 is formed by means of diffusion and then a common electrode 39 and a first and a second negative electrodes 28, 29 are formed. A linear separating groove 31 is then provided to divide the surface region. By so doing, the common electrode can be provided on the same plane as the accumulated one, thus facilitating the accurate positioning of the electrode. As a result, external lead bonding is readily carried out.
