Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a titled device compact and welding accuracy high by providing a torch position angle detector within the arm frame body of a torch mounting part, and so controlling the position angle and weaving amplitude of the torch as to be changed freely during operation. CONSTITUTION:A torch 7 is held vertically in the single Vee groove of two pieces of the works W1, W2, and the welding of the 1st layer S1 is carried out in conformity with a bottom vertex a. For the 2nd, 3rd layers S2, S3 the torch 7 and an arm frame body 1 are suitably moved upward, and the welding is carried out in conformity with the right and left wall points b1, b2, c1, c2 of the roots of the respective grooves. The welding is accomplished to a linear shape for the 1st layer S1 by controlling of a control means 2. For the 2nd, 3rd layers S2, S3, the weaving welding of different amplitudes is carried out. At the time of weaving motion, the position angles alpha of the torch 7 are detected successively by a potentiomer 12, and the information is transmitted to the means 2. The means 2 gives the commands for forward and backward runs to a motor 3 and by the reiterative operations thereof, the torch 7 is progressed along the groove weld line.
