Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the weld line of three-dimensional shape to be welded by arithmetically controlling only the two axes of the rotating speed of a welding positioner and the moving speed of a welding manipulator. CONSTITUTION:A boom 2 is longitudinally slidably mounted to a welding manipulator slide unit 1 and the boom 2 is slided by a motor 3. The vertical slide unit 6 mounted to a vertical slide mechanism 5 is vertically moved along the mechanism 5 by a motor 7. When the point to be welded moves up or down, a welding nozzle 9 is oscillated about a fulcrum 20 by a tracing mechanism. This movement is transmitted to an arm 17 which in turn actuates a limit switch 18 or 19. As the switch 18 actuates, the unit 6 is lowered by the motor 7 and when the switch 19 actuates, the unit 6 is moved upward. The center of the part to be welded is set at the center of the rotary table 11 of a welding positioner 10, and the rotating speed of the table 11 and the moving speed of the boom 2 are arithmetically controlled by an arithmetic control unit 13.
