Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the directional disuniformity of the photoconductive sensibility, by applying A.C. voltage on two electrodes of an ultraviolet discharge tube having two linear parallel electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Two parallel electrodes 3, 4 made of such metal as molybdenum which emitting the photoelectron upon receiving of the ultraviolet ray are provided in an air-tight container 2, and secured to a conductive support penetrating to the outside. Hydrogen gas of several handred Torr is encapsulated in said container 2 while the voltage of 300V is applied between the electrodes 3, 4. One electrode of such ultra-violet discharge tube 13 is connectecd in series to a resistor 14 and a speaker 15. The other electrode is connected to the series joint between a transistors Tr11 and Tr12, and the rectangular wave pulses of 1,000Hz having the phase shift of 180 deg. are applied on the bases of said transistors. Consequently the anode and the cathode of two electrodes 3, 4 are switched resulting in the reduction of the directional disuniformity of the photoconductive sensibility.
