Abstract
1403507 Ionization chambers XONICS Inc 6 Nov 1973 [10 Nov 1972] 51449/73 Heading HID An electronic imaging chamber for radiography comprises spaced electrodes 14, 16 with a gas-filled gap therebetween, the electrodes being connected to supplies of D.C. and A.C. voltage. The D.C. voltage is applied at terminal 25 and the A.C. voltage is derived from an oscillator 30 connected to the grid of a triode 31 which is energized through choke 26 from the D.C. voltage source. The anode of the triode is connected through inductance 27 to electrode 16, a capacitor 32 being provided for tuning. The image is formed on a charge storage layer 18. The frequency range of the A.C. voltage can be 10<SP>6</SP> to 10<SP>9</SP> Hz. The gas in the chamber is at high pressure, e.g. 20 atmospheres and is opaque to X-rays.
