Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the amount of air inside an accumulator for an ink jet recorder constant for maintaining the attenuating effect of pulsation by providing two liquid level sensors and watching and replenishing air inside the accumulator. CONSTITUTION:When a pressure sensor provided near the head part becomes a standard pressure, checking is made on whether or not the liquid level of an accumulator 1 is within allowable air volumes of LS1 and LS2. In case where the liquid level is above LS1, or the amount of air is short, air is replenished by opening a three-way valve 12 leading to the accumulator 1, whereas in case where the liquid level is below LS2, or the amount of air is large, excessive air is discharged to an ink tank by closing the three-way valve 12 leading to the accumulator and opening it leading to the open air and opening a two-way valve 11 intermittently for a short period of time. Thus, the liquid level is kept within the range of LS1 and LS2 and thereby the amount of air inside the accumulator is kept in a fixed range.
