Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply ink correctly by a simple device to any recording systems by a method wherein a subsidiary ink tank is provided between an ink tank and a record ing head part, the quantity of ink in the subsidiary ink tank is detected and a constant quantity is maintained at any time. CONSTITUTION:Recording ink IK is tansferred by a pump 4 from a main tank 3 to the subsidiary ink tank 2 through pipes 5a, 5b and then supplied to a recording head 1. In the tank 3 is provided a vessel 6 in the form of a bag which is made of resin film and the like. The ink IK is stored in the vessel 6 and the internal part of the tank 3 is always kept at the atmospheric pressure through an air passage 3a of the tank 3. There is provided an air passage 2b on the upper surface also of the subsidiary tank 2 and the internal pressure thereof is kept always at the atmosphere pressure. Further, there is provided a pressure sensor 8 at the bottom of the tank 2 and the ink IK is supplied to the head 1 through a passage 10 keeping the quantity of ink always at a given level HL.
