Abstract

PURPOSE: To absovb pressure change of the air in a subtank with regard to an ink jet recording device provided with a subtank on the carriage by a method wherein a main tank is of flat, thin, flexible and blind structure.
CONSTITUTION: An ink jet head 1 and the subtank 4 are mounted on the carriage 3. This subtank 4 is connected to the main tank 7 through an ink supply tube 6 in which ink reciprocates and they are enclosed. The capacity of ink in the main tank 7 keeps the initial condition and the increase of the inner pressure is set to zero. Even if the air layer in the subtank 4 is pressured by means of the rise of temperature and the like, load resistance of the recording head and a filter 5 is far larger then that of a supply tube 6 and the main tank 7, etc. and the ink 4b in the subtank 4 is easy to move to the main tank 7.
