Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the lift of a rudder through controlling the boundary layer on the peripheral surface of the rubber by a method wherein the wake flow behind a propeller is directed to slits by a pipe and is ejected to the peripheral surface of rubber.
CONSTITUTION: Introducing parts 14 for a jetting fluid are provided at front parts of the rubber 5, and the wake flow generated by the propeller is directed into a chamber 11 by the pipe 13. The chamber 11 is provided with the slits 10, and the fluid ejected through the slits 10 controls the boundary layer on the peripheral surface 12 of the rubber 12. Accordingly, since the boundary layer on the the peripheral surface of the rubber is controlled, the lift of the rubber is increased and the steerability is enhanced.
