Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the assembling and to prevent the cross-talk discharge by fitting both open ends of a U-shaped tube to a projected chip for positioning a supporting board while pressing the U-shaped tube through a stopper board and securing the U-shaped tube to the supporting board. CONSTITUTION:The lower face of an outer tube 1b is sealed by a stem 1a formed such that an electrode 2 will penetrate through a spacer 3. While two U-shaped tubes 7 having the inner wall coated with phosphor subsistance are provided and both open ends are fitted to the rising wall 6 of a supporting board 4 having the rising wall 6 projecting at the circumference of a through-hole 5, while the U-shaped tube 7 is pressed by a supporting rod 9 and a press board 8 to be secured to the supporting board 4. Then they are pressed against the spacer 3 by the reaction force which will contact both idle ends 8a of the press board 8 resiliently against the ceiling of the outer tube 1b and secured. Since the U-shaped tube 7 can be secured to the stem 1a wthout requiring the welding, unnecessary cross-talk discharge can be prevented.
