Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of cracks by providing a grooved structure in which a part of a discharge container is depressed outward and inserting a partitioning plate in this groove with a certain gap. CONSTITUTION:A glass tube 2 is provided with groove 4 formed by depressing its inner surface in the longitudinal direction and a partitioning plate 5 which partitions discharge is inserted in it with a certain gap. The glass tube 2 in which the partitioning plate 5 is inserted forms two discharge passages with a sectional area S and a stem plate is sealed on its opening end, so that an electrode 6 can be positioned on both sides partitioned by the partitioned plate 5. The central part of the stem plate is depressed outward and the partitioning plate 5 is fit in this part. It is recommended that the gap between the said partitioning plate and the groove wall should be 0.7mm. long or less.
