Abstract
PURPOSE: To automatically perform mooring work of a ship and eliminate its manual operation, by fixing the base end of a mooring cable to a quay side through a freely movable arm, leaving said mooring cable in a swingabily hanging state toward the sea side and engaging a mooring device in the quay contacting ship to the stopped part in the free end of said mooring cable.
CONSTITUTION: From the side of a quay 17, an arm 31 is swung by weight of a counterweight 34 and tension of a mooring cable 38 or the like almost in a horizontal state toward the sea side, and the point end of the mooring cable 38 hangs down through a sheave at the point end of the arm 31, then to the hung down bottom end part of the mooring cable 38 there is mounted a stopped part 39 engaged to a mooring device 2 provided in a ship 1 approaching the quay. Accordingly, when the ship approaches to make contact with the quay with engagement of the mooring device 2 in the ship 1 to the stopped part 39 of the mooring cable 38, the arm 31 is swingably moved with tension while being applied to the mooring cable 38, then the ship 1 is stopped. Thereafter, a mooring cable 45 is extended to complete mooring work.
