Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the interference with both handling of a sail and operating of a derick at a loading time, by a method wherein a sail is unfurled above a derick post serving as a bottom side.
CONSTITUTION: A sail post 6 is mounted at a center of a top part of a derick post 1, and a sheave 12 is secured to and hung from the top of the post 1. Meanwhile, a sail winding device 7 is attached to an upper surface of a derick boom 2 by means of a pin, and is coupled directly to a matter 20 for winding through a reduction gear. The sail 13 is formed in a right-angled triangle, and when handling the sail 13, the bottom side of the sail 13 is wound around a drum 14 of the handling device 7, and simultaneously, a wire, secured to the sail top, is wound around a winch through the sheave 12. Thus, the sail 13 is wound by means of the winding device 7 at a loading time or, where necessary and this permits stowing of the sail.
