Abstract

PURPOSE: To strengthen a tightness between a steel pipe and a pile head, by a method wherein the steel pipe is brought into contact with the head part of a concrete pile, and they are pressed for mating in a manner to heat it by means of a toroidal-shape burner.
CONSTITUTION: A mating end 2a of a steel pipe 2, spread in a taper, is brought into contact with a head part of a concrete pile 1 for mating. A toroidal burner 3 concentrically mates in a play outside the steel pipe 2, and a gas jet nozzle is ignited to heat the steel pipe 2 by means of gas flame. The steel pipe 2 is then pressurized from above, and this facilitates lowering of the steel pipe resulting from the thermal expansion created by heating and the deformation due to the pressurization and enables mating of them. The current heating temperature confines itself to rise up to about 300°C at the heating source of the steel pipe so that the concrete is prevented from being influenced by a heat.
