Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance magnetic characteristics of ferrosilicon sintered thin plate by preparing the same from a high ferrosilicon slip to which a specific amount of B is added.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a carbonyl Fe powder, a sprayed powder of an Fe-17 wt% Si alloy and an Fe-20wt% B alloy powder are used as a stock material powder and said stock material powder is compounded so as to adjust a B content in a sintered boty to 0.1W0.4wt% and, to the resultant compound, 4.5W7.5wt% silicon is added to form a ferrosilicon slip. The resultant slip is molded into a sheet like form by a tape casting process and the obtained sheet is molded into a predetermined shape by a punching or a cutting method and the obtained molded one is sintered to obtain a ferrosilicon sintered thin plate. The thus obtained ferrosilicon sintered thin plate is controlled from formation of silicon oxide on a surface layer thereof and has excellent magnetic characteristics.
