Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it posible to give a function of regenerative braking, by a method wherein with a series field coil of a DC series motor a diode bridge rectifying circuit depending on the other AC power source and a diode flowing only in the reverse direction to the main power source voltage are in parallel connected. CONSTITUTION:By depressing a switch 75 when applying regenerative braking, an RB72 is excited to close a contact 72 to become self-retentive. Accordingly the AC voltage from the AC power source 71 through a transformer 73 is rectified by a diode bridge rectifying circuit 74, the DC output thereof flows through a field wiring 4 of the series motor in the arrow direction to be excited. So long as the induc- tion voltage of an armature 5 is a voltage higher than the line voltage, the power is regenerated bypassing the series field at the diode 8 to execute effetive braking by a reverse direction torque generated in the armature 5. In case the diode bridge circuit 74 is a mixed bridge circuit, it is so constituted as the device 7'.
