Abstract
PURPOSE:To switch plating installations easily, quickly and safely by airtightly connecting the sealing part on the inlet side of the plating installation provided in the end part of a heating furnace and a suitable plating installation which is freely travelable and exchangeable via a connecting installation. CONSTITUTION:In the case of switching a unit 9 for one side zinc hot dipping to a both side unit 20, the plating line is stopped, the shutoff damper 2 in the sealing part on the inlet side is fully closed, and the entry of air into a heating furnace 24 is prevented by making combination use of an inlet side seal damper 1. Next, the cap of a manhole 23 is removed, and a plated steel plate 21 is removed and cut by using a carrier roll 22. A unit elevating mechanism 12 is turned to lift the unit 9 at a level (h) and the unit is carried to the outside of the system by rails 11. Next, the cut strip 21 is passed through the unit 20, and is joined. The unit 20 is then run on the rails 11, and is set in a plating cell, after which the mechanism 12 is lowered to the home position. Known synchronizing rolls and support rolls are installed.
