Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording body which is free from variations in surface roughness and friction coefficient over the overall length, and has superior durability and winding characteristics and a back-coating layer, by making the back-coating layer contain a compound which is converted to a compound having a cross-linking structure by radiation irradiation. CONSTITUTION:The opposite surface to a magnetic layer is coated with back- coating paint which contains a radiation-sensitive compound, such as reactive acryl oligomer and oligoacrylate, having >=2 double bonds, resin, carbon, and in organic pigment, and then irradiated with ionizing radiation, such as electron beams, neutron beams, and gamma rays, to cause a radical reaction, thus converting cross-linking structure.
