Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a horizontal thin-film head having high electromagthic conversion efficiency by forming a conductor coil centering on one of two magnetic bodies provided on a substrate and by connecting constituted magnetic poles, having an interposing nonmagnetic spacer, to two magnetic bodies oppositely. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate 12, two magnetic bodies 10 and 10' are provided and while a conductor coil 9 is formed centering on one of two magnetic bodies 10, a coil terminal lead-out part 1 is provided on the flank of the substrate 12 with easy wiring. Between two magnetic poles 6 and 7 made of magnetic bodies such as ferrite, a nonmagnetic spacer 8 is provided, and those magnetic poles 6 and 7 are connected oppositely to two magnetic bodies 10 and 10' of the substrate 12. Consequently, a recording medium is only the film thickness of the magnetic poles 6 and 7 away from the coil and faces to the flat surfaces of the magnetic poles 6 and 7 with large facing area, so that a horizontal thin-film head having high electromagnetie conversion efficiency is manufactured easily.
