Abstract

PURPOSE:To greatly improve power generating efficiency of a generator by a method wherein a rotor with a ring shaped conductor concentric with the shaft is surrounded with an exciting field failing to contact the rotor so that the rotor may not need to make its way through an exciting field. CONSTITUTION:A disk shaped rotor 2 consists of a shaft 12, a nonmagnetic insulator disk which is fixed on the shaft, and a ring of an inducible substance 3 rimming the insulator disk. Brushes 6 and 7 are symmetrically installed on the inducible member 3 and slide on ring shaped conductive slip plates 4 and 5 fixed by supports 8-11. About the disk shaped rotor 2 is an exciting permanent magnet 1 that surrounds but does not contact the disk shaped rotor 2. Rotation of the shaft 12 induces a ring-wise current in the inducible member 3 of the rotor 2 which can be taken out at terminals 15 and 16. The rotor 2 not travelling through an exciting field, loss is quite low and generating efficiency is improved.
