Abstract

PURPOSE: Island-in-sea conjugate flows are collected to a funnel type path and the collected flow is surrounded with other island-in-sea conjugate flows, then the resultant conjugate flow is passed through another funnel path to produce fiber containing as many islands as possible in the narrow section.
CONSTITUTION: A spinning dope A is introduced through a number of nozzles 1, passed through pipes 2 and 2' and united with another spinning dope B in pipe 4. Then the united dope flows are collected in the funnel-shaped path 5 and sent to the second funnel-shaped path 11. Similarly, a spinning dope A' is introduced through a number of nozzles 7, sent through pipes 8 and 8' and united with another spinning dope B in pipe 10, then the flows are united with the above collected flow in the second funnel path 5 so that the latter flows surrounds the above collected flow. The united flow is extruded through a nozzle 12 into fiber.
