Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled three-component fiber with a very small polymer loss readily under steady production conditions, by extruding an interposing component, a sheath component or sea component, and then a core or island component in the order mentioned.
CONSTITUTION: In a process wherein a three-component composite fiber having a sheath B-core A structure or one or plural island A'-sea B' structures and an interposing component C surrouding part of the respective sheaths B or seas B', the interposing component C is made to flow out of a hole 12, passed through a lower space 13 and an annular part 7 and a collecting spinneret 8 and extruded from a hole 9. The sheath component B is then fed from a hole 10, passed through a space 11, annular part 4, hole 5, pipe 6 and the collecting spinneret 8 and extruded from the hole 9. The core component A is then introduced from a hole 1, passed through a hole 2, pipe 3 and the annular part 4 and hole 5 to form a sheath-core stream, which is passed through the pipe 6 and annular part 7, collected in the spinneret 8 and extruded from the hole 9.
